Cardamom Orange Fig Maple Syrup


Want to and some zing to your pancakes?  Tszuj-up your pancake syrup with this easy and fun recipe.  And if you have extras or want to make it advance of a special breakfast, refrigerate in an air-tight container.

  • Rehydrate your figs with hot whiskey (½ cup)
  • Sniff out those great smelling Naval Oranges


  • 2 Cups High Quality OJ
  • 2 Cups Water 2 Oranges, Zested
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 tsp Cardamom
  • 1 TBSP Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Cups Maple Syrup
  • 2 Cups Rehydrated Figs, Minced

Now let’s get started!

Step 1: Trim stems from figs
Step 2: Soak figs in ½ cup of hot whiskey for 25 minutes
Step 3: Mince figs
Step 4: Add all ingredients to a pot and simmer on low for 1 hour
Step 5: Remove from heat and let come to room temp
Step 6: Pour into your favorite sauce dish and serve
