Pumpkin Spice Pound Cake
There’s nothing quite like pumpkin to signal the arrival of Autumn and my Pumpkin Spice Pound Cake is a perfect treat for the season. Bake this for yourself as a treat and have on-hand to impress your surprise guests – it is sure to impress!
#RedFlagMoment Tip: Before you begin, pre-measure all your ingredients and line them up in order of incorporation - this will make the mixing processing much easier!
- 8 oz Salted Butter (Room Temperature)
- 1½ cup Cane Sugar
- ½ cup Brown Sugar
- 4 Eggs
- ½ tsp Cinnamon
- ½ tsp Nutmeg
- ¼ tsp Clove
- 1 tsp Orange Zest
- 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 TBSP Whiskey
- 2½ cups Pumpkin Puree
- 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1½ tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
Now let’s get started!
Pre-heat oven to 350o
Step #1: Cream together butter & sugar
Step #2: Add in eggs, one at a time
Step #3: Add in all spices, orange zest, whiskey, and vanilla extract
Step #4: Sift flour and rising agents together
Step #5: Add ½ of dry ingredients and ½ of pumpkin puree in mixing bowl
Step #6: Beat mixture on medium until combined
Step #7: Scrape down sides of mixture well
Step #8: Add in remaining dry mixture and pumpkin puree, mix on medium until combined
Step #9: Grease (2) 6” loaf pans
Step #10: Divide batter in half between loaf pans
Step #11: Bake at 350o for 20 minutes – check for doneness with wooden skewer. May need additional baking time depending on your oven
