Ginger Chew

Yes, that's right, ginger chew. These cookies don't snap or crunch...they chew. And you're going to love them - just like Duff did in last night's episode of Food Network's Holiday Baking Championship!

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz Butter (Softened)
  • 2 cups Cane Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 TBS Ground Ginger
  • ½ TBS Saigon Cinnamon
  • ½ tsp Nutmeg
  • ½ tsp Clove
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 1 TBSP Baking Soda
  • 2 TBSP Water (Cold)
  • ½ cup Molasses
  • 4 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour

Now Let’s Get Started:

Preheat oven to 350
Step #1: Cream together butter & sugar
Step #2:  Add eggs, 1 at a time
Step #3: Pour in rest of ingredients
Step #4:  Mix on low until combined
Step #5:  Using an ice cream scooper, scoop cookies on to sheet pan 4” apart
Step #6:  Put in freezer for at least 1 hour
Step #7: Remove from freezer and roll each cookie in to a perfect sphere
Step #8: Toss each in cinnamon sugar & place back on back on cookie sheet
Step #9:  Bake immediately for 12 minutes at 350o
